Toddlers Adopted After Being Found Abandoned By Parents In Trash Wearing Only Diapers

We live in a world that has its share of sadness but sometimes, those sad situations are just far too much to handle. That is the case when it comes to children who are abandoned. Some happen at a hospital or with the police, and that is sad enough but when it happens in a cruel way, it is sometimes difficult to believe. Let’s face it, being a parent is difficult but there is never an excuse to abandon a child and leave them to die. That is what happened, however, on a cold November night a few years ago. Two toddler brothers were found abandoned and sitting on a pile of garbage outside of the Metropolitan Ministries in Pasco County, Florida. One child was 2 and the other was only 7 months old. Both were only wearing diapers.

Fox 13 was told by Purcell that the children were shivering as they were sitting among the bags of trash. Nobody was nearby when they were found. Prior to being left on the trash pile, they had lived with their parents in the woods. Pastor Ronnie Steward and his wife Kyrstal were contacted to see if they would care for the children temporarily. That temporary situation turned into something permanent when they adopted the boys.

The Stewarts already had children of their own, Riley, Ronnie, and Selah. Those kids were happy to welcome two little brothers. If it weren’t for the Stewarts, the boys would have been in the foster care system in Florida. Those boys were in bad shape when they first got them.

“They were covered in bug bites, head to toe, Krystal told Fox 13. ” They were so filthy, that we actually had to bathe, and drain, and bathe again two different times. The toddle who did have shoes didn’t have any socks on.”

When we took his shoes off, a little skin on the top of his feet actually came off. The children slept for ten straight hours,” Kristol told TODAY. “I don’t think they’ve ever slept in a bed before,” she added.

Those children are living a much better life these days. They are part of a loving family and their parents are vowing to be there for them, come what may. Learn more in this video:
