Animals are some of the best things that we have in the world around us. When we feel as if the walls are closing in, we don’t need to look much further than the critters in our local area to know that all is right with the world. Then again, there are so many animals that are outside of our personal space and when we get to know more about them, we get to know more about the planet where we live. Although there are countless animals to consider in this regard, the two that are featured in the following video are the Pelican and the capybara.
Most of us wouldn’t necessarily think about pelicans and capybaras being in the same space. After all, pelicans are often found soaring above the water and eating fish in tropical areas. Capybaras, on the other hand, are similar to guinea pigs and are often found in central and northern South America, although some have been found in Florida in recent years. Pelicans love the water, capybaras also enjoy the water, although they enjoy it from the surface. In this particular case, however, a Pelican and capybara happen to find each other as housemates, as they were living at the Ichihara Elephant Kingdom in Chiba.
Something that you might recognize about pelicans is the fact that they can eat something rather large. More than likely, you have seen videos of them swallowing a large fish whole, although it is not unusual to see them snag a bird and eat it as well. Capybaras, on the other hand, are cute and cuddly, or at least that’s the impression that we have of them.
In this video, however, it seems as if the Pelican is sizing up the capybara for a meal. He attempts to eat the critter on numerous occasions, but fortunately, he comes up short of the mark. Watch the interesting video for yourself below:
